Cookie press is excellent for creative icing effects.also look
muffin cakes
for a truly flexible rounded-tip spatula for the main icing coverage

roses & 3-dimensional pieces on that can be stuck onto cakes prepared with
first coating of icing. I've watched the pros do amazing things with an
icing gun, a paper cone, & plenty of practice.including pink icing
elephants, baby faces & miniature top hats. Start simple but learn ur
spatula strokes, sprinkle patterns & how to make shell, egg & dart, Roman
column effects, etc., with icing 'gun' or cookie press. Have fun first,
remember?

them as what we call 'run outs' or 'pour outs'. With these you lay ur

with either Icing of ur choice or different coloured/flavoured chocolate.

Pop them in the fridge or freezer & use them as decorations. If you can
buy metal stencils they can also be used as cookie cutters etc. If you
have an artistic talent, you can make ur own with little more than a sharp
craft knife or scalpel & lids from plastic containers. That way the only
thing stopping you is ur imagination.you can also get proper stenciling
equipment from craft shops. A friend of mine is a confectioner & has been
making her own for years. A quick look around a specialist suppliers & you
will leave with some good ideas (and probably broke) that you could adapt
yourself if you are that way inclined.
Just take a look around ur own kitchen & look at things in a different
light, it is surprising what you can find in drawers & the backs of
cupboards that you can use or adapt to decorate cakes . Odd shaped cans
for example if you open them at both ends make cutters. I hope this helps.
All the best & good luck both in & out of the kitchen.
